CSC Mock Exam & Practice Exam for Exam 1 and Exam 2
Use CSC mock exams after you have worked through chapter questions and calculations. A full practice exam changes the task from recognizing one chapter at a time to retrieving material across the syllabus while managing time, uncertainty and similar-looking answer choices.
CSC Exam 1 mock exam
Use the Exam 1 mock to combine marketplace, economics, fixed-income, equity, derivatives and financial-statement concepts under timed conditions. After the attempt, return to the chapters behind your missed questions instead of simply memorizing the answer key.
CSC Exam 2 mock exam
Use the Exam 2 mock to practise investment analysis, portfolio concepts, managed products, taxation and client-focused material in a mixed-question environment. Track whether errors come from knowledge gaps, wording, calculations or rushed decisions.
Current official CSC structure: CSI lists two proctored multiple-choice exams, each with 100 questions, a 2-hour duration and a 60% passing grade. Official requirements can change, so confirm current details with CSI before your exam.
How to use a CSC practice exam effectively
- Build the foundation first. Complete chapter-level review and targeted practice before relying on a full mock.
- Simulate the clock. Complete the mock in one sitting when you are ready to test pacing and endurance.
- Classify every miss. Mark each error as a concept gap, calculation mistake, wording mistake, confused comparison or time-pressure decision.
- Repair weak areas. Return to targeted CSC practice questions, calculation questions and case studies.
- Retest later. Use the second full simulation only after you have corrected the weaknesses exposed by the first.
What should I review after a mock exam?
Do not review only the questions you got wrong. Also review low-confidence correct answers. Those are often the concepts most likely to become errors when wording changes on a future question.
When should I start full mock exams?
Start after you have covered most of the material and have enough chapter-level practice to make a full simulation meaningful. Earlier in your study plan, focused practice usually gives better diagnostic information.

How to interpret a CSC mock-exam result
Use mock-exam scores diagnostically, not as a guarantee of an official result. After a timed attempt, divide missed and low-confidence questions into four groups: concept gaps, calculation setup, question-reading errors, and timing problems.
Example review log
Suppose you miss 18 questions: 7 from unclear concepts, 5 from formulas, 4 from misreading words such as “except,” and 2 from rushing. Your next session should spend the most time on the seven concept gaps, then redo calculations without viewing the answer first.
The 72-second benchmark
CSI currently lists 100 questions in 120 minutes per CSC exam. That averages 72 seconds per item, but the better strategy is to save time on familiar questions and leave room for calculations and review, subject to exam rules.
Exam trap: repeating a mock immediately and memorizing its answer order can inflate your score without improving understanding. Review why distractors are wrong, return to calculation practice and chapter-style questions, then retest later. The CSCprep course includes one full mock for each exam.
